Parkridge Rowhouses
Knoxville
2025
Our Parkridge Rowhouses in Knoxville embody Folk Workshop’s ethos of place‑based, human‑centered design. The project addresses the city’s missing‑middle housing need with a series of articulated rowhouses and duplexes that respect the scale and rhythm of the historic streetscape while projecting a contemporary architectural clarity.
The façades, clad in durable, colorful materials, articulate solids and voids that optimize daylight, privacy, and urban proportion. Careful modulation of rhythm, openings, and entry sequences creates a civic presence while maintaining a domestic scale. Subtle material detailing and restrained articulation reinforce an economy of means, a hallmark of Folk Workshop’s approach.
Internally, flexible layouts accommodate a variety of uses — compact living, home offices, or shared spaces — anticipating change over time. Communal gardens and outdoor rooms extend the project’s social dimension, fostering connection and resilience within the neighborhood. Parkridge Rowhouses demonstrates how thoughtful architecture can integrate density, adaptability, and context-driven design in a meaningful, human-scaled way.
